Nel 2003 feci stampare migliaia di banconote da cento euro (fuori misura) illegalmente perché doveva esserci la dicitura fac-simile, ma insistendo il tipografo accettò. Sostituii quell’obbligo con FuckSimile per utilizzare le banconote come simbolo di un sistema sociale che tendeva sempre più verso una perdita di valori e aberrazioni di percorso sul senso di vita con una interpretazione di fottere il prossimo come regola principe. Ho voluto unire un personaggio che facesse da medium tra i miei lavori e lo spettatore e così iniziai aggiungendo le rane in carta fatte con cento euro. Il concept mi fu suggerito da alcuni autori e loro pensieri che già conoscevo; ad esempio:
Le rane (in greco antico: Βάτραχοι, Bátrachoi) è una commedia teatrale di Aristofane, messa in scena per la prima volta ad Atene, alle Lenee del 405 a.C., dove risultò vincitrice. Nelle Rane, è il coro degli iniziati a cantare i testi più strettamente connessi all’attualità, nonché a stigmatizzare la situazione sociale ed i problemi di Atene, auspicando una rapida soluzione; questo poiché, proprio in quanto iniziati, essi hanno un buon trattamento nell’Ade, una relazione più stretta con gli dei e una maggiore saggezza nel vedere i problemi dei vivi. Un altro riferimento fu Il testo di Noam Chomsky è una rappresentazione critica dell’impoverimento morale e culturale della
collettività, che porta all’ingiustizia, alla disuguaglianza e in ultima istanza al disfacimento sociale. Il caso volle che le rane in versione origami erano un oggetto che ho sempre costruito fin da piccolo piegando la carta tra un aereo e una barchetta. La rana è un testimone, un aggressore, un illusore, circonda le cose prova ad affascinare con risultati improbabili perché alla fine lo stagno resta comunque una palude, il regno della muffa e dell’umidità.
In 2003 I had thousands of one hundred euro banknotes (oversized) printed illegally because there had to be the wording facsimile, but when I insisted the printer accepted. I replaced that obligation with FuckSimile to use banknotes as a symbol of a social system that increasingly tended towards a loss of values and path aberrations on the meaning of life with an interpretation of fucking others as the main rule. I wanted to combine a character who would act as a medium between my works and the viewer and so I started by adding the paper frogs made with one hundred euros. The concept was suggested to me by some authors and their thoughts that I already knew; for example:
The Frogs (in ancient Greek: Βάτραχοι, Bátrachoi) is a theatrical comedy by Aristophanes, staged for the first time in Athens, at the Lenae in 405 BC, where it won. In the Frogs, it is the choir of initiates who sing the texts most closely connected to current events, as well as stigmatizing the social situation and the problems of Athens, hoping for a quick solution; this is because, precisely as initiates, they have good treatment in Hades, a closer relationship with the gods and greater wisdom in seeing the problems of the living. Another reference was Noam Chomsky’s text is a critical representation of the moral and cultural impoverishment of surrounds things and tries to fascinate with unlikely results because in the end the pond still remains a swamp, the kingdom of mold and humidity.
