Francesco Longo, artista e designer di interni, lavora a Chieri, sulla collina torinese, dove vive con la compagna Agnese e i due figli Alice e Achille.
Si forma a Torino come advertising graphic designer. Dopo l’esperienza in Danimarca come art director pubblicitario, rientra in Italia e inizia un percorso di ricerca personale come artista e designer di ambienti.
Dalla metà degli anni ’90 lancia vari eventi culturali, tra cui “È Strada”, Festival Internazionale di Teatro di Strada e Arte Urbana, e numerose mostre figurative, trasformando il proprio laboratorio Cornici e Design in un punto di riferimento per la comunità artistica cittadina e per autorevoli voci del panorama culturale italiano.
Filo rosso nel lavoro di Longo, che negli anni 2000 si specializza nell’architettura di interni, è l’amore per i materiali, per la loro combinazione in forme e accostamenti originali, così come l’esplorazione della luce negli spazi abitativi e professionali. La venatura di legni pregiati o grezzi, il ferro dei bulloni e il rame a vista, l’irregolarità della pietra e la trasparenza del plexi si mescolano nel disegno di tavoli, sedute e illuminazioni. Pezzi unici che nascono dal riciclo di oggetti vintage o dall’invenzione di forme inedite. La ricombinazione di vecchi elementi si trasforma in novità.
Ispirato dal design concept di Victor Papanek e lo stile di Mies Van der Rohe il linguaggio di Longo, minimalista e concettuale, accoglie tratti diversi, diverse esperienze e relazioni, in un dialogo sempre fruttuoso con tutte le committenze: privati, aziende, negozi, locali, scuole.

Francesco Longo, artist and interior designer, works in Chieri, on the Turin hills, where he lives with his partner Agnese and their two children Alice and Achille.
He trained in Turin as an advertising graphic designer. After his experience in Denmark as an advertising art director, he returned to Italy and began a personal research journey as an artist and designer of interiors.
Since the mid-90s it has launched various cultural events, including “È Strada”, the International Festival of Street Theater and Urban Art, and numerous figurative exhibitions, transforming its “Cornici & Design” laboratory into a point of reference for the city’s artistic community and for authoritative voices of the Italian cultural scene.
Red thread in the work of Longo, who specialized in interior architecture in the 2000s, is the love for materials, for their combination in original shapes and combinations, as well as the exploration of light in living and professional spaces. The grain of precious or rough woods, the iron of the bolts and the exposed copper, the irregularity of the stone and the transparency of the plexi are mixed in the design of tables, seats and lighting. Unique pieces that arise from the recycling of vintage objects or from the invention of new shapes. The recombination of old elements turns into novelty.
Inspired by the design concept of Victor Papanek and the style of Mies Van der Rohe, the language of Longo, minimalist and conceptual, embraces different traits, different experiences and relationships, in an always fruitful dialogue with all clients: individuals, companies, shops, clubs , schools.
